ATTENTION: BRONCO SOFTBALL PLAYERS !!!!
Minooka Softball will be having an open evaluation to select our 2008 12U tournament team the Minooka Magic Red . This evaluation will be on Saturday, May 10th at Four Seasons Park in Shorewood. The tryout will start at 5:30 pm on field #1 and should last around 2 hours. The coach for this team will be Mike Tuman. If you cannot make the evaluation, this will not preclude you from making the team! Please note that you are taking the chance that the evaluators do not know your level of talent as compared to the other players. The evaluation will be done by two coaches as well as two independent representatives of the Minooka Baseball/Softball board. Every bronco girl is welcome to tryout but only one team will be selected.
Please note that this team will play in two tournaments. One is the weekend of June 27 th June 29th in Morris and the other is the weekend of July 18 th 20 th in Plainfield . The coaches would prefer that each girl that tries out commit to both tournaments but if she can only commit to one there is still a chance that she can make the team. Please note that any girl that makes the team will divide all costs for BOTH tournaments evenly. The Minooka Baseball/Softball Association will pay the entry fee for one of the tournaments. Each girl that makes the team will be responsible for her share of the entry fee for the second tournament plus uniform shirt, hat and socks approximately $70 per girl. This team may play in a third tournament and/or practice games if they would like. Any additional costs for extra games will be paid for by the team members. If the girls can get sponsors or donations, the cost per family will be reduced considerably. Please note that we will NOT put sponsors names/logos on the uniforms.
As a board, the Minooka Baseball Softball Association has decided that if a girl DOES NOT participate in the tournament(s) that she has committed to that she MAY NOT be eligible for a post-season team the following year. If she is selected to this team and does not show up for a game(s) without notifying her coach in advance her situation will be discussed by the board and her eligibility for the next post season will be determined. We understand that there are unforeseen circumstances - so there is no blanket policy each case will be evaluated individually.
Please also note and this is VERY IMPORTANT that your attitude is a big part of being selected for this team. If you do not have a good attitude toward the game of softball, your coaches, teammates or even yourself, this will be taken into consideration. You can be a great player, but if you do not have a good attitude, you might not be selected for this team!!! We want this team to represent our program in a positive way as well as displaying our talent!
If you cannot make this evaluation and would still like to be considered for the tournament team, you must call Dave Holstine at 815-521-0393 or send an email through our website www.minookabsa.org - BEFORE 10:00 pm on Friday May 9th . Please try to be at the evaluation 15 to 20 minutes early. You will need to check in and then you will be able to warm up. We will start the evaluation at 5:30 sharp!!!!
Please also note!! This is a tournament team' NOT an all-star team!!!!!
